Gary K4RQT and George N2APB are handling a MEGA ham estate sell-off from our recently departed TLARC member and dear friend Barry Johnson, K8NWB … and we’re now ready to start things going with a curated list of items that we’ll be bringing to our Firehouse meeting place tomorrow evening: Wednesday Jan 21st!
Overall we have about 170 ham items and paraphernalia ranging from small connectors up to 2KW Henry amplifiers … We’ll share that entire list with you shortly, but we cherry-picked a “short list” that should be of prime interest to TLARC members attending the meeting. This shorter list is shown below, and as you can see there are some “nicer” items that have an Asking Price listed in the rightmost column, while those items on the bottom of the list without prices are essentially for giveaway. All we ask is a small donation that would be given to Barry’s XYL via his estate. There are many, many boxes of good technical books, connectors, meters, cables, batteries, relays, and more that are available for the avid scroungers among our members!
The way it’ll work … Gary and I will be arriving about 6:30pm at the Firehouse and we’ll start bringing in 30 boxes o’ stuff to the front table of our meeting room. (We sure could use some help in doing this! 😉 FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. So if you think you may be interested in items from the list below, you might wish to arrive a tad early like us to help unload things from my red F150.
We do not plan to bring back any of the “Grab Box” items, and as few of the “Nice Items” as we need to. In other words, these items are priced to move and if you are interested at all, by all means let us know and we’ll try to make a deal happen for you.
The feeding frenzy and price haggling should be done by 7:15-or-so, and our new President KB4TV will be ready then to take over the meeting and kick off his agenda for the year.
Let us know if you have any questions, and if you see something of interest on the Big List coming shortly, let us know that too and we’ll try to get that for you to see.
Thanks for helping to kick off TLARC 2026 with a special and memorable event!
73,
George N2APB
Gary K4RQT
