Good evening folks! For those of you who missed last week’s in-person club meeting, I’ve got some news for you! As if missing the fantastic “Go Bag” presentation by Tim (N4TLM) and lots of interesting discussions on radio stuff, there was somewhat of a “historic” happening. Historic in a good way, not like the ARRL raising dues
, but a significant change for the club. Those present voted on a change to our monthly in-person meeting venue (location), which going forward will be the Tellico Village Fire Department! And to go along with the change in scenery, there was a change in the meeting start time … going forward we will meet at the Fire Department starting at 1900 hrs (7:00 pm) on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, which will give folks ample time to gather for dinner before the meeting if they so choose. This new location will strengthen our relationship with local 1st Responders, including a possible opportunity to set up a “backup communication shack” within the facility. Want to help with that? Lots of discussion on that in the future, so don’t wait for that ship to sail, get involved with this going forward. There are lots of details yet to be discussed with the FD, but I hope this is something that folks can get excited about and help the club figure things out.
So mark your calendar(s) and whatever else you use to remind yourself of stuff for the next in-person monthly meeting (August 16th at 7:00 pm at the Tellico Village Fire Department) and make plans to show up and get engaged!
